Shakespeare in the Park 2014 Announcement: Much Ado About Nothing and King Lear
The Public Theater announced Much Ado About Nothing and King Lear as the productions for the 52nd annual season of Shakespeare in the Park, the annual summer festival of outdoor theater at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park.
Much Ado About Nothing will feature Lily Rabe as Beatrice and Hamish Linklater as Benedict. Rabe and Linklater are SITP regulars. Rabe appeared in The Merchant of Venice in 2010 and As You Like It 2012. Linklater appeared in last year’s The Comedy of Errors and Twelfth Night in 2009.
King Lear will feature John Lithgow.
